Local, State, and National Parks

Any green space, waterfront, woodland, prairie, etc. is bound to have birds! Get started by looking up the state parks that make Minnesota a great birding spot.

State Birding Trails

Many states have created trails with birding in mind. The American Bird Associate highlights two major birding trails in Minnesota.

Your Own Backyard or Neighborhood!

Birds are everywhere, including right outside your doorstep! Whether you are in downtown Minneapolis, or at a Costco parking lot in Woodbury, you will find birds if you look for them. Keep an eye out for our feathered friends. Being more aware of the animals in your own space is a great way to get into birding!
